The Shard - London by Night
Title: The Shard - London by Night Synopsis: An abstract interpretation of the London Shard skyline at night. Very textured with subtle dark undertones to capture the evening skyline. Incorporating metallic silver aspects to reflect the significant building within the dominant London landscape. The Shard (also referred to as the Shard of Glass) is an 87-storey skyscraper in London that forms part of the London Bridge Quarter development. The Shard's construction began in March 2009 and the practical completion was achieved in November 2012. Standing approximately 306 meters high the Shard is currently the tallest building in the European Union. Designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano. Oliver Watt - British Contemporary Artist. Oliver Watt’s Contemporary Fine Art is internationally collected. My bespoke abstract works are inspired from literature, poetry and interpretations of subjects that relate to me. I am also heavily influenced by my environment and how I perceive things around me. I find that using poetry and literature to inspire my art not only helps the direction and essence of a piece of work but it engages a response and evokes a feeling with the viewer. I like to produce emotional abstract paintings and to paint with the feelings it leaves with me, this is often reflected through using subtle strokes and harmonious colours and bringing in textured bold elements. I use varied techniques to apply the paint to canvas and this can be from rollers, palette knives, scrapers, sponges and different size brushes. The use of the applied paint is created from the essence of the painting I am trying to convey, I aim to leave a part of my soul on the canvas. I believe it’s important to convey meaning into my paintings so people can have more of an understanding and personal connection with each piece. High quality acrylic on deluxe canvas. Canvases are deep edge and the painting continues around the sides. Paintings are already hung with wire and hooks. Each piece is stamped with my personal logo. Paintings include title, date and signature. Certificate of Authenticity included with each item. Please feel free to ask any questions about this piece and any others you might like. Commissions are available and welcome. Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and I hope you gain pleasure from this individual piece. Greetings from England. Oliver
