This was made with a hardwood base and the sea glass was collected from the Sounion region of Athens, Greece. The back is dressed with thin rope. Each piece of sea glass was fitted like a puzzle and slithers of same, were used to fill in the gaps. My thoughts when making this: We live in a society where exterior beauty is promoted and often rewarded. In an attempt to conform to the 'norm' we tend to forget what actually makes a person beautiful. Most of us carry around some sort of emotional baggage - we are in some form broken, cracked or flawed. I created this mirror as a reminder to look deeper. Dimensions: 83cm length, 37 width mirror diameter

About the Artist
