Study of this William Turner Venice scene dated 1842. Completed last year I studied this paint which hangs in the Clore gallery attached to Tate Britain. I decided to increase the over all size by 2.3 making the work more landscape in proportion and change from oil to plaster to produce a fresco. I love Turner but, according to the film he was a miserable old sod, and really quite rude. By doing these studies like Shipwreck (see my gallery) it has really helped in understanding composition and the handling of pigmented plaster and oil medium. I have put a high price on this as I have strong voices in the family to keep it. I could alway do it again or do another. Over all size including frame 65 inch long x 42 inch high .Frame included in price. Will re gold the frame.

Painting was on hold until 1995 when I invented a new type of fresco plaster call Portofino. I have been producing work since then. I'm now in a po...
