This is one of a set of 5 stunning fine art framed canvases in black and white of subjects in and around the Tavira area in the eastern Algarve, Portugal. The other four were part of an exhibition at East Midlands Airport, showcasing local talent. This is a picture of the 'anchor graveyard' on the Praia de Barril on the outskirts of Santa Luzia, about 10 minutes' drive from Tavira. There was once a thriving tuna fishing industry here, which started in the days of Moorish occupation, but over-fishing and changes in the tuna's migratory patterns have almost wiped it out, leaving the tuna boats' anchors as an impressive testament to the industry's previous importance. This is print 1 in a limited edition of 100.
