The African Queen

'The African Queen' is a coloured pencil drawing on Arches Aquarelle Hot Pressed paper. Created in a photo realistic style there is a high level of detail captured in this striking portrait of a beautiful African lioness on the prowl in some tall grasses. I've used high quality Caran D'Ache Luminance pencils and a limited palette with fiery highlights to hint at the setting sun, placing the lioness against an unfocussed background to give depth and atmosphere. Measuring approximately 14 x 10 inches, this drawing is presented in an off white mount and framed within a 2cm square, distressed, bright silver frame to a total size of approximately 20 x 16 inches, ready to hang. It is signed on the front and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
