This semi-abstract painting of a river has been created with EVA (plastic/resin) on a large, deep edge canvas. The EVA is applied in segments with circles of colour within circles which has the look of Millefiori glasswork. The resin is quite thick with a sculptural quality and the glossy finish is enhanced with two coats of protective varnish. The sides of the canvas are painted black.

I am very fortunate to live by a beautiful stretch of river. I walk beside it every day and during the summer months I often swim in it. My painting is inspired by a photo I took on a baking hot and stunning blue sky day after I'd cooled off in my regular swimming spot.

That day all the colours seemed brighter and even the rocky riverbed shimmered in the sun.
