Strawberry Streamers

This painting breathes warm colours raspberry reds, illuminating flecks of light, expressive brushwork and some small elements of collage work. Taking inspiration from her time in Rome, the artist uses some photographical elements in the layering of the painting. The photographs of the Trevvy fountain lye underneath the piece making the red colours over the top look like water. You can see glimpes of this, but is not immedtiately apparent. This is how the artist builds her paintings to creat depth and intrigue to each painting. The textures created are immense as she uses undiluted oil paints. A truly outstanding painting by the highly collectable works of Victoria Horkan.
