‘A long, narrow, multi-coloured piece’. I find when I look at this painting, my eyes are continuously moving. They follow the shapes that the paint has created, around and around. Siriol holds my attention well. This is another piece that when painting I made the conscious choice to allow myself free reign with regard to colour palette. I love the resulting painting, I feel it is warm and fun. I allowed the paint to flow over the edges of the canvas, creating a smooth, more complete finish. It means there truly is more to see from every angle. Thanks to wide edge size, Siriol feels more ‘involved’ in your room. One person told me that Siriol reminds him of a chocolate or chew bar, in a retro wrapper. I can see how the size and shape of the canvas aids this view point. This isn’t what I had seen when looking at Siriol, but I love how that very differing opinion, illustrates how interpretation and opinion are free and truly individual. 120cm x 40cm, with a depth of 7.5cm. A long, slim piece with a deep edge. This is an interesting size, but fits lots of spaces. You can choose to hang it whichever way suits your space.

About the Artist

My inspiration comes from scenes I have found powerful or beautiful from the natural world. I found that reflections in water, of rainbows, landscapes, sunsets and skies provide aesthetically pleasing and slightly distorted images of the world. This is what I try to recreate through painting. ...
