Listening to a favourite song last autumn (‘Turn of the century’ from the album ‘Going for the One’ by Yes) prompted me to do this little painting.
I wanted to revisit my wife and I’s two years living and painting in Cornwall. It always has a special place in my heart, especially Port Issac where we lived pre Doc Martin days, with the houses on the cliffs overlooking the sea. So quiet and tranquill.
All expensive second homes now. Visiting last year was like going to a theme park. It was so busy… the little narrow streets and paths were jammed with people…not to mention all the litter they dropped.. It is a shame, but I doubt we will ever return now.
And as the last line of the song goes…“We'll both remember all those many years ago.
