Seaton was a strange treasure. Vast chemical plants and countless pylons, reminding the nature reserves on which they breed of technology’s long and toxic arms. The night sky was a different, unexpected colour, and there was a distinct, yet unidentifiable smell in the air. I was immediately captivated and fascinated it took me back to Runcorn and the car journey to my parents’, house only I could actually get up close to this alternative metropolis There were so many pylons, standing alone yet bound together sentinels punctuating the countryside and the air. Their presence had unique charisma they were manificent yet forlorn and enslaved. I was very attracted to the figurative abstraction and the opportunities such a unique environment provided towering chimneys, stark artificial light, pylons, steam and powerlines. Players cast in an unexpected idyll. This artwork has the pictured white border. It is mounted, unframed, for display to exhibition stand
