This figurative image is based on a recent annual commemoration of the dropping of the atom bomb on Hiroshima. This is a celebration with lanterns at dusk giving the light of hope for a peaceful future. At the centre of the image is a little girl gazing impassively at the observer, not accusing but a symbol of innocence and future hope. In the background is the half destroyed building in the centre of the Memorial Park, one of the few structures left standing in 1945.
