This beautiful portrait looks like a piece of lace hung from a wooden dowel but it is actually a drawing made with a 3d printing pen, using a flexible filament.
I've used a red filament for the drawing and strengthened the reverse side with white.
The filament used has a 'rubber like' quality making it incredibly durable and highly flexible. According to the manufacturers blurb this is one of the toughest filaments available and chemical resistant. Basically this artwork will last forever!!
As you can see from the photographs, this piece looks best displayed against a white or light coloured wall as it is semi transparent. When it's held up to the light you can barely make out the image and it just wouldn't work against a bright colour or busy wallpaper.
It is lightweight, easy to hang and makes a stunning and very stylish alternative to a painting.
