    Inspiration for this painting came from the Oriental Poppy, Patty's Plum. Gently moving in the breeze the petals seemed almost 'silk-like'. I wanted to capture the movement and flimsy qualities of the flower not reproduce a likeness, more of a recognition. Working on a large scale allows me greater freedom to play about with images, ideas and painting techniques. The sides of the painting have been completed to hang unframed. Sold in a simple floating frame for exhibition and added security in transit.
