A marine painting celebrating the North Atlantic puffin, or Tammie Norrie, as Shetlanders call them. I love visiting the cliff-tops when they arrive to nest in burrows in the turf and raise their single chick. Sometimes they even seem to me to show a cautious curiosity about the human visitor! The frame is made of driftwood gathered from the shore in Unst, the northern-most Shetland Isle. The over-all size given is exceeded by the frame by a couple of inches. I realise not everyone might want a driftwood frame. If you would prefer the puffins to be presented in one of my simple, cherrywood frames, (Visitors may care to look another painting on my gallery page to see what these are like,) please let the Art Gallery know & I will re-frame.
