Pride or prejudice?
A semi abstract figurative/narrative piece which focusses on the classical theme of cardinal sin and updates it to the modern world in which the term Pride is used in quite a different way, prompting the question about which is the real mortal sin. The colours and figures suggest participants in a Gay Pride march and the composition itself is built around the words. Also featured is well known Russian iconography and script which suggests a high level of public support there for state sponsored persecution of gays.
We all know about pride being one of the 7 deadly sins but is the LGBTQ+ community guilty of the same in asserting itself with pride? or has the world moved on?
