Painted on deep edge pre stretched canvas. Oyster catchers are often seen round the Cornish coast. They like sandy shores, flying together and have a piping call. They have a shallow wingbeat which increases in depth just before landing. The painting also features a wall constructed with local natural rock  widely used in West Cornwall.
