This is a painting taken from a photograph courtesy of award winning photographer Andy Bitterer. It depicts a Norwegian Fjord looking in from the sea. The mountains are high and drop sheer to the ater's edge. The water is also very deep and very dark at the edges where the sun is not catching the surface. The mountains at the front are scree, where the sun catches the minerals, I have used copper and bronze paint and this glimmers in light. In the middle at the back is the string mountain rock with the snow and ice clinging to the crevices. Clinging to the shore are fishermen 's houses built on stilts reaching out across the rocky beach. The single storey houses are painted the same colour as their boats. The fishing boats are anchored in he fjord, and have an unique shape, a tall cabin with a long space for the catch, all painted orange and white.
