A daredevil MTB downhiller speeds across the slopes of mud and clay. Tree roots to work round and not get the wheels caught. Tree trunks looming up fast. Then the flying leap from one part of the course to another. Sometimes grass bank to slippery grass bank, sometimes a literal air-grab in the woods. It's exhilirating to watch. Heart-thumping to ride. Exciting to paint. The spinning wheels, the position of the body in balance. Inspired from observations, sketches and photographs taken at a Pearce Cycles Downhill events at Bucknell Woods, Shropshire. The image continues around the edges of the shallow canvas. The painting is framed in a wood frame which has a 'tree bark' groove pattern on it (see images for detail). D-rings and cord fitted so ready to hang.

About the Artist

I am influenced by movement and colour. An observational artist I respond to whatever is in my realm according to how life is panning out for me at that time. I love capturing the changing natural world as much as I enjoy creating images to capture people in motion in sport. I create noise for yo...
