This is one of a series of paintings of rusty motoring icons, the chance of painting a sleek, sophisticated and expensive sports car in a less than pristine condition was not to be missed. The series was inspired by a Dutch gentleman who bought my first effort 4 years ago at an exhibition here in France, since then he has bought 3 more and has commissioned a painting of one of his father's cars from the late 50s. The painting, I think, sits well with others, especially in pairs as per the photograph. Please note the photograph shows the painting in a double mount and gold frame, the painting is sold unframed because of problems posting glass, however the double mount will be included to fit a 30 x 40 cm frame.

About the Artist

I obtained a grade A at O Level art, my only artistic qualification. I did dabble in drawing over the years but only started to paint seriously when I joined a watercolour class at a night school. I did sell the odd painting in UK but only really got going after we moved to France on retirement...
