The symbolic meaning in this painting is influenced by an old Chinese story about two lovers, who only had eyes for themselves and neglected everything else. This made the gods angry, so they decided to restrict their meetings to only one day per year.
I strived for harmony in this composition that is slightly at odds with the rich colours and gold spatter overlay...there is a patina created by a gum arabic lacquer.
Painting size is 17cm x 17cm , total size with white mount is 25cm x 25cm.
The painting is backed with artists' greyboard and cellophane wrapped for presentation. and is issued with a Certificate of Authenticity
