The amazing Scottish countryside is one of the things (next to my children of course!) I hold most dear. I can spend hours walking around stunning Lochs, take a million pictures and every now and then I simply just stand still, close my eyes and listen. The wind, the fresh air, the sound. That's my happy place and it likely always will be. As such, the time spent outdoors greatly influences my work and Lochside is one of those that, in my mind, mirrors some of the gorgeous shapes, colours and reflections to be found at this time of year. There is a lot of underlying texture to this piece which makes it appear grainy in places. I have used multiple different materials to achieve this, some of which are sand, cement, pigments, glue, solder and spray paint. The main paints used are acrylic, ink and oil pastels. It is difficult to describe art, even more so when, really, I don't want it to sell particularly quickly. I'm rather happy to have it on my wall for now. Alas, the spot it is in seems to be destined for a quick despatch. However. I can tell you, that this piece, in a house full of art, is the one that grabs my attention every single time I walk past it. And that, that means something. If you love it, please buy it. I am sure it will bring you a lot of joy.

About the Artist

I'm Claudia. Just Claudia. There's no fancy title going with it, no educational achievement worth telling (unless you count the time I flustered my Latin teacher so much he sent me out to count the bicycles chained up at the school - 278!). I'm many things. A single mum to 2 utte...
