Lily Pond at Kew II (Framed)
This is a second painting using alkyd and oil colours. It is a very abstract overall impression of shapes and colours in a lily pond remembered from a visit to Kew Gardens (UK) on a sunny day. It has been treated in a minimalist way to capture an overall visual memory. Colours were "high" and "low" mixed with shadows and reflections onto the water from leaves, lilies, sky and surroundings. These are tied together with silver hinting at the water element. The paint has been applied smoothly, however the silver resin also adds a contrast and texture. The painting is signed on the reverse but if preferred it could be signed on the side. Because it is a deep canvas it is ready to hang.
