The inside of this beautiful hand painted bowl, is decorated with koi carp swimming through swirling water patterns.
On the outside is a bright sunshine yellow glaze, with more swimming koi carp.
A very popular subject in Japanese culture, the koi swimming upriver is often used to symbolise the overcoming of obstacles and ultimate victory in the face of adversity.
