This drawing of a tree looks like delicate lace but it has been created with a 3D pen and flexible plastic filament. The filament is heated in the pen and comes out hot and pliable. As the filament is worked into a drawing it cools to form a permanent piece of art.

The TPU is incredibly strong and durable but it is also lightweight so this artwork is easy to hang, suspended from a wooden dowel.

It looks best displayed on a light, solid colour background.

The inspiration for this piece came from a particularly magnificent oak tree near where I live.
