"Joes' Wall" is anoil on canvas painting of Joe Crow. Joe is homeless and he lives on the streets of Winchester. Joe is one of the most gentle guys that I have ever encountered. He lives every second of his life and every second of his life is full of fear, anxiety, joy and hope.
I wanted the painting to shout and scream at those in power who do not help the homeless and who are happy for the homeless to be invisible, to fade away.
Joe fades into the graffiti yet his smile, his hope dominate the picture as they do in real life.
I wanted to paint "Joe's Wall" in a realism style using oil paints on canvas. I wanted to create a documentary of the consequences of poverty.
I primed the canvas in red paint and started building the layers of the oil painting. initially using large brushes and gradually decreasing the size of the brushes until I used single hair brushes for the smallest of detail.
"Joe's Wall" is an original oil painting signed on the front and professionally framed in a bespoke frame. The painting is unique as there are no prints.
The best quality oil paints (Michael Harding hand crafted oil paints) and the finest canvas are used. The painting will come with a signed certificate of authenticity
