Irony - Street Photography, Urban, Cityscape, Streets, Durham City.
The image Irony was taken on the streets of Durham City on a cold damp morning. The day's photography was mainly for my street photography portfolio and consisted of the daily life of the people passing by. I saw the young guy asleep in a doorway earlier but on passing again later he had settled outside of the financial advice center. It's sad to see homeless people down on their luck and when you see it early in the morning when everyone else is just getting on with their day, the thoughts stay with you. At the time he was unaware that I had taken the photograph but I showed him the image on the back of the camera after taking him a bacon sandwich and a hot cup of coffee as a thank you.
