A portrait of a spotted hyena outside her den, early on a winter's morning. Unluckily for hyenas, bad press has has led to many misconceptions about hyenas, which has resulted in a very negative reputation. They have often been depicted as stupid, cowardly scavengers. Far from being stupid they are extremely intelligent, and although they may scavenge, they are primarily hunters. They are also very social animals. They live in clans, in a rather interesting, hierarchical society. Please note: Postage and packaging included.
