After producing a pencil sketch of a beautiful horse, the drawing is replicated with a 3D pen and TPU flexible filament to form a lace effect wall hanging. Working with a 3D pen is literally drawing with plastic.
The filament is heated inside the pen and is discharged in a melted state so the lines and loops drawn stick together and cool forming the "lace" artwork. TPU filament is extremely strong and durable despite the delicate appearance.

The lace drawing hangs beautifully from a wooden dowel. Alternatively the dowel could be removed and the piece professionally framed (see photo of mock up on wall).

As you can see from the photos, these 3D pen drawings look best against a plain, light coloured wall due to their semi transparent nature. They are easy to keep clean with a soft duster or vacuum attchment.
