This image is painted in oils on a timber (mdf) support using glazing techniques throughout which provide a much more impressive picture and is a technique used by many of the "old masters" especially from the fourteenth century onwards. As Winsor and Newton observe in their booklet on painting, mdf provides potentially longer lasting support and one which is rigid, giving advantages to both artist and purchaser. Rubins, for example, left canvas to paint consistently on a timber support. The attractive frame is fitted and ready for hanging and is supplied free along with postage in the UK (plus some extra rates for elsewhere) and, as with all my paintings, will be very well packed and secured against damage in transit. Varnish to the surface of the image will give long protection against atmospheric harm.. The overall size including the frame is 21" x 17".

About the Artist
