40,000 Interlocking basalt columns towering into the sky, formed 50 to 60 million years ago from volcanic lava. Myth has it that this was the home to the giant Finn McCool who argued with his larger Scottish cousin Benandonner. Finn formed a Causeway by throwing sections of the Antrim coast into the sea to reach Scotland. He realised his mistake when he saw the size of his cousin and beat a hasty retreat and hiding in a pram, dressed as a baby. When Benandonner saw the size of the baby he realised his Father must be much bigger and ran back to Scotland breaking up the Causeway as he went, never to return.
