Flowers of Flame

10 monthly payments of £57.50 0% APR
This image is oil on wood panel (mdf) of two brilliantly coloured chrysanthemums in an antique vase. Mdf provides a rigid and long lasting support (as Winsor and Newton observe in their painting booklet) and has advantages over canvas for both artist and buyer., The whole painting was completed using glazing techniques which, while taking appreciably longer than otherwise, produces much improved results and was used extensively by the old masters, especially from the fourteenth century on. The attractive frame is fitted and ready for hanging and is supplied free along with postage in the UK (plus some extra rates for elsewhere) and, as with all my paintings, will be very well packed and secured against damage in transit. Varnish to the surface of the image will give long protection against atmospheric harm..

About the Artist

As a painter, you might say I am a fervid painter in oils -- none of that watery stuff! It's the choice of so many masters of old: inspired and self-controlled. I see oil as being the best foil for visual expression and interpretation: paint it thin or thick, landscape or skyscape,, drape i...
