Finlay McQueen was one of the last people to live on St Kilda. He was taken off the island at the age of 76, having never been on the mainland of Scotland. He died during the 2WW. it was impossible at the time to take him home and is buried far from home. In the Bottom left of the painting you will see the words "Thoir Mi Daghaidh" Take me home in Gaelic. The painting is off Finlay sitting outside his St Kilda home. People of the islands lived off eating sea birds. Now and then they would stuff them to sell to tourists. Hense the puffin on his lap
