This is abstract painting on cotton canvas. The style is defined by sculptural use of paint. It is 3-D, built-up mixture of many layers of thick gesso, paint, sand and other materials.
I'm inspired by the structure of Jupiter's Moons. This one was inspired by the surface of the satellite called Eurydome. It was discovered by a team of astronomers from the University of Hawaii led by Scott S. Sheppard in 2001. It was named in August 2003 after Eurydome in Greek mythology, who is sometimes described as the mother of the Graces by Zeus (Jupiter)
