This is a watercolour painting of the Harley Davidson chopper ridden by Billie (Dennis Hopper) in the 1969 classic 'Easy Rider' film which came to symbolise the counter-culture movement of the 1960s. It is a Harley Davidson Panhead with cut steering head, long forks and styled by Cliff “Soney” Vaughs and built by Ben Hardy. The movie "Easy Rider" changed my life as a young motorcyclist so I just had to do a dedication to it. Original painting created 2019. The frame is 19” x 14.5” and the image 12.5’ x 8.5”. The frame has a corner chip at the back which doesn’t show when hung (seee pic).

About the Artist

Having freed myself of a life-long career producing highly accurate illustrations, I now enjoy looser lines and colours on playfully rendered motifs, often inspired by the locality of my new home, Devon. More works can be seen on my Instagram page: arthur_j_phillips
