From space,,Earth is magnificent sight, splashed with vivid colours,,patternd,,textures and abstract forms..In addition to ist splendour , our planet seen from above can also provide telling information about the health of our home and its ecosystems..

I've started to explore new technique called Encaustic painting also known as hot wax painting.

Encaustic is a Greek word meaning ''to heat or burn in'' (enkaustikos). Heat is used throughout the process, from melting the beeswax and varnish to fusing the layers of wax. Encaustic consists of natural bees wax and dammar resin (crystlallyzed tree sap).
The medium can be used alone for its transparency or adhesive qualities or used pigmented.
Pigments may be added to the medium or purchased colouerd with traditional artists pigments.
The medium is melted and applied with a brush or any tool the artist wishes to create from.
Each layer is then reheated to fuse it to the previous layer.

I connect deeply with the outdoors..
Both, emotionally and intellectually.
My sense of place and our relationship with where we are resonate in my work.
Places I've walked, hiked, sat, lived or imagined figure prominently in my work.Often they are vulnrable somehow - to climate change, human intervention, invasive species...
I aim to preserve, remember, elegize places I love.
I wok from aeral sources - satellite images, fom dream and imagination.
My next stage is paintery - making encaustic medium, mixing colours, using oil pastels, oils, epoxy resin and other media.
The process of my work integrates technology and nature, echoing my thematic exploration of our interconnected environment.
Encaustic lasts for thousands of years with colours remaing vivid and bright, yet the surface is a bit soft and vulnerable .
The result is final , works both - durable and fragile much like our beautiful Earth..
