Although I was painting for last 20 years, my paintings now have been inspired by my recent interest in Astronomy and Cosmology. In 1054, Chinese, Japanese, and Persian astronomers had all reported a brilliant "New Star" in earth's skies. It was bright enough to be seen in daylight for 23 days, it did not fade from naked-eye visibility for almost two years. Today we know that the new star was in fact a Type 2 Supernova - death throes of a massive star that no longer support it's own weight. The Crab nebula is the remnant of this enormous explosion and still glowing at temperature hotter than the Sun (18000 degree centigrade) The Crab Nebula is vast in size, about 10 light years (measure of distance - not time), across, compared to the distance between the Sun and the Earth is mere 8 minutes ( about 93 million miles) The Crab nebula could be observed with a high power telescope in Taurus constellation of Zodiac in the sky at night.
