This is another painting of a modern city landscape which made me think it would be interesting to juxtapose the iconic, matchstick figures by now traditionally associated with a 1920's industrial Manchester landscape of dark satanic mills, factories and smoking chimneys as painted by LS Lowry, and set them within the minimalist, steel and gleaming glass landscapes of the contemporary city, to perhaps pose questions about the image of the city which still lingers today.
