This close-up of a part of a French Carousel concentrates on the decorative features of one of the caparisoned horses. The range of shapes, colours and patterns creates a complex set of pictorial relationships which I have positioned very precisely to the edges of the square canvas in order to create an exactly balanced tension between the varied elements and the whole, moving both across the picture plane and back into the pictorial space. This painting comes with a free white wooden frame - dimensions 25.5 x 25.5 x 1 in.
