This was created for the Green & Stone 2020 Summer Exhibition "New Beginnings" and succeeded to the shortlist.  The heron can be a symbol of patience and focus, assets to be harnessed at new beginnings.   Also, white is the symbol representing all possibilities: one can think of the artist with a blank canvas or a writer with a blank sheet of paper…ready for new work, a new interpretation.  It can also represent an air of calm, enhancing the qualities of the heron.

To invigorate the mood of the painting it has been rendered in layers, revealing nuances of colour and an overall sense of space which focuses the heron.

It is signed on the front and has been professionally framed by our studio framers.
