Boys in A Wonderland (2011) Huajin Qiu 's work completed on the eve of Christmas. A marvelous space with fields, cottages, flowers, trees, birds, windows, sky, crowd, cliff, to name a few, is standing out from the canvas with the vibrant colours. As well, the Chinese calligraphy technique is applied in the work. Six characters of MAN/BOY were well designed and painted on the canvas to highlight a perception of movement. The artist was inspired by his childhood memory in the countryside. "I was in an afternoon nap, and then this view came into my dream- the village in the small village i used to live, which, however, was not exactly the same as the one of my birthplace, but with the view of the villages i have visited in China. and then I was chasing around something unknown around this place. Hope, happiness, childhood memory, joy, or just someone? I don't actually know. It's an dream. But I do remember that I ve had fun in chasing such dream."
