We celebrated the official opening of our Iconic Portraits exhibition in style this week at our gallery space in Regents Park, London.

The exhibition, featuring the work of post pop artist Peter Mason and mosaic artist Ed Chapman, includes some of the world’s most recognised faces including Madonna, Morrissey, Elizabeth Taylor and Blondie.

Guests enjoyed a glass of wine in the company of the famous faces and were able to see for themselves the detail and skill that goes into creating the pieces. In Ed’s case his mosaics are made up of thousands of fragments of ceramic tiles carefully placed to create the works. In contrast, Peter uses recycled postage stamps to create the pixellated images and portraits.

Peter Mason was on hand to speak to guests and give an artist’s insight into how the pieces are created and the meanings behind them. His recent works have a Royal connection with HRH The Queen, Princess Diana and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge amongst his Royal subjects. You can see Peter’s full gallery here.
