Beetroot. A study of beetroot using fabric scraps. The inspiration for this piece is about exploring texture. I use lighter and darker pieces of recycled fabric to give the beetroot form and by sewing the fabric pieces thoughtfully I can use the pattern to show texture. This original artwork looks like a painting from a distance its only when closely examined you can see the individual pieces of cloth. This artwork is made using new and recycled fabric from my extensive collection. Every piece of my textile artwork is a total original and due to the nature of the fabric cannot be reproduced. Framed in a white painted wood frame measuring 28.5cm x 28.5cm. Actual artwork size is 20cm x 20cm
