I am inspired by literally everything around me. Be it colours, textures or views. I like to reinterpret those images in my own way, put them in my sketchbook and then get it down onto canvas. There are times I don’t know what I am going to paint until I begin to hit the blank canvas! I love the freedom and excitement that feeling brings. I am however, especially interested in the Cubists and Futurism. The way they interpreted the space and object is fascinating. I endeavor to paint something a little different! I really enjoy creating paintings and drawing which have lots of colour and lots of interesting shapes and movement. Fish are of real interest to me, and love to watch them move and glide about in the water, and I try and recreate this in my work.

I adore the leaves on this artwork - abundant, bushy and curly with silvery undersides. The background is pleasing too.Submitted by Margaret W 27/05/2015
