I have sold artworks at home and internationally, exhibiting on several occasions. I have twice been selected to exhibit at the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull.
I achieved GCE Art Grade A1 at school, after which I attended Art College in my home town of Leeds, gaining a Diploma in Design. I later went on to study Art History, achieving a BA Hons Degree.
I have always loved Art and making drawings and paintings in watercolour, pastel and oil of those subjects I love. My work has been exhibited and sold in local art exhibitions on many occasions, including a three-month long successful exhibition, and I have been selected for and exhibited my work at the prestigious Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, Yorkshire. In addition I have undertaken several private commissions, which I have enjoyed. Some of my work hangs in homes in Canada, USA and Australia, as well as Europe and closer to home. I attended Art College in Leeds, in the 1960s, studying life drawing and fashion and later went on to study Art History with the Open University, obtaining a degree in 2000. I have always continued to enjoy painting and drawing as my main passion. I hope you enjoy browsing through my art and find something to interest and inspire you! I would love to hear your comments about my work, so do feel free to contact me if you would like further details about any of my artworks.
I received a lovely quote about one of my paintings, which is as follows:- "What beauty to capture so much simplicity and elevate it to such a high level", which was describing my 'Dried Flowers in Glass Vases' painting.
