    My Art and Works. Hi I'm Sue, a full-time artist working in Norfolk, taking my art inspiration from the beautiful nature around me. I create art to convey the spirit of nature and nature's energies, bringing the outside in. I exhibit my work locally and have just had my first Solo Art Exhibition in Gt Yarmouth, 'Nature's Magic' Out of the Web Onto the Walls!, which I thoroughly enjoyed and was a huge success. I sold paintings, prints and had so much positive feedback and met many lovely people. I love creating impressionistic, expressionistic and abstract themes of nature that capture nature's feeling, spirit and energy, expressing what I feel to directly engage with you, the viewer. Working mostly in watercolour and acrylics, I experiment with many different styles and colours and use only professional artist quality materials. I sketch and take photographs outdoors, sometimes just creating from ideas and thoughts of what I feel. The visual immediacy of a painting can transport you anywhere and can trigger the mind, body and spirit into a state of well being in experiencing the raw power of nature from the beautiful, calm tranquillity of my flowers to the sublime exhilaration of my seascapes. In today's climate many of us feel the need to relax, meditate and free ourselves from the hubbub of The Everyday, social media and technology. Many people have found my artworks to be uplifting, meditational and spiritual - a connection with nature in an instant, to help become more in tune with a more natural state of being. I have always been passionate about art as early as I can remember. As we are created we strive to create. I was born in London and moved to Norfolk about twenty years ago which, as I mentioned earlier, has been my main source of inspiration. I am a self-taught artist which I believe has allowed me the freedom to develop my own style of creating. I have recently studied and gained a degree in Art History which I loved. For me, as well as creating art, it is important to know how art has developed through time and what inspired artists to create. I think that's very significant, the reasons why we do what we do.
