Born in London in 1959, I attended the London College of Printing in the Elephant and Castle where I studied lithography. I subsequently worked as a colour retoucher on such publications as Tatler and Harpers & Queen. The litho industry was computerised and my brush and etching solution were replaced with a keyboard and screen. I left London and settled in the Northern Lake District, returning to the brush and to painting. Six years ago I formed a mural company and continue to undertake large community arts projects across Cumbria. I have exhibited at The Green House at Curwen Park in Workington, Northern Lights Gallery in Keswick, Greta Hall(Coleridge’s home in Keswick) and have recently exhibited with the Eden Arts Open Studio project throughout Cumbria. My work is traditional and is drawn from my love of the masters. I paint people and the beautiful world around them. Velasquez remains my friend and hero.
