Graduated in Fine Art from St Martin's School of Art in the sixties. Taught at various secondary schools, colleges and a polytechnic until starting work for PIR Associates, PR, Advertising and Marketing, as a graphic designer. During my time as a graphic designer, I also taught for fifteen years at Adult Education Classes covering beginners, life drawing and painting with advanced classes in both. I finished working as a graphic designer twelve years ago but continued in the company as a consultant until 2006. Since returning to painting, I have exhibited and sold work many times in and around Sheffield including The Great Sheffield Art Show and Art in the Gardens - awarded First prize in the Abstract Landscape section and runner up in the Celebrity Portrait competition. I came third in the Sheffield University Centenary Art Competition. My work has been shown and sold in several exhibitions at the University. My commissions include portraiture, still life, landscape and, abstracts of the former. There are examples of my work in Britain, Italy, Canada and France. In April and May, 2015 I held my first retrospective show 'from this .......to this' in The Circle Gallery in the centre of Sheffield which proved to be very successful, making all the hard work and angst worth it. I had six palntings in a mixed exhibition in the Belcanto Gallery in Barga, Italy in July and August in 2016. In the same year I sold some limited giclee prints in a hotel gallery.
