It started for me in London in 1976 with the unveiling of a six foot mural in cement fondu on my school wall. After which I attended art college followed by my apprenticeship to a former apprentice of the famed English sculptor Eric Gill where I was privileged in studying the almost forgotten technique of direct carving, the method I continue to use and teach to this day. In 1983 I opened my first workshop the Butlers Wharf Studio on London's South Bank. There I was fortunate in undertaking some wonderful contracts which included Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, House of Commons, Lincoln's Inn and St Mary Le Strand. I have a long standing interest in erotic art but more recently I have turned my attentions to the bygone practice of carving portrait busts.
