Kelly Standish | ArtGallery.co.uk
As a self taught artist, the learning curve has been challenging and at times difficult. I had travelled and moved extensively as a child and had always had art as a constant through that. I was rarely without a pencil in my hand. After the birth of my daughter, I threw myself into mastering oil painting. The great realists had always astounded me and I wanted to know 'how they did that', which led in turn to how I wanted to 'do that'. Refining my style and scope continues every day. I've now shown in many of Scarborough Galleries Open Exhibitions and had two of my own solo Exhibitions. I'm inspired by the stunning coast by which I live and by the peaceful beauty that a life can be surrounded by, if you choose to look for it.
