Julie Bond is a full time artist living in Surrey UK. "Movement and the play of light on water, clouds, in fact all of nature inspire me. I use oils on canvas or board in a traditional way and use a renaissance palette as my base. I introduce new colours and use traditional fine art techniques with mixtures of more abstract, broad brush strokes to give life and vitality to my work. Portraiture and figurative art have been my foundation and my latest collections of oils are enjoying more of a free flow with the emphasis on contrasting light and depth. I love the mythological, romantic themes of the famous Bouguereau and the subject and style of Turner in contrast. My paintings are not overtly textural and painterly, but I create mood and interest with a careful build up of thin glazes producing art that is calm and atmospheric." I was fortunate to have my work featured by artgallery.co.uk at the Malvern Theatre Worcestershire exhibition, I hope you enjoy my paintings.
